Apple Classroom - Before you get started
Before you get started using the Apple Classroom app:
1. Make sure that you have Classroom app (The classroom app need to be installed only for teacher device - your students not need to have the Classroom app installed)
2. Sign in with your Managed Apple ID (You and all your students must sign in with their Managed Apple ID with their school email to the devices)
3. Make sure that you and your students are connected to ais.wifi and have Bluetooth ON
1. (Teacher only) Make sure that you have Classroom app
To use Apple Classroom, you will need an iPad or Mac managed by AIS.
You will use the Classroom app on your teacher’s iPad or Mac to manage student devices.
iPad
The Classroom app should be pre-installed on your iPad.
(don’t confuse it with the Classroom app by Google)
Mac
On your Mac - you can install the Classroom app from Self-Service. Here is how to use Self-Service: How to use Self-Service
2. Sign in with your Managed Apple ID
(Both teachers and students must complete this step)
You and all your students must sign in with Managed Apple ID to the devices in order to use Apple Classroom.
Every person (both students and teachers) needs to sign in to the device with their own school email.
You as a teacher, sign in to your device with your school email.
Your students sign in to their devices with their school email (typically school email looks like firstname.lastname@aischool.org)
If you or your students forgot their school email or password - please contact AIS IT Support here: https://support.aischool.org/
iPad
1. Go to Settings
2. Tap Sign in to your iPad
3. Type your school email and tap Next
4. You will see the Apple ID for Atlanta International School screen. Tap Continue
5. You will be directed to the sign-in screen. Sign in with your school email and password.
Mac
1. Go to Apple Logo > System Preferences
2. Click Sign in to your Apple ID (If you already signed in to your personal Apple ID - please sign out from it)
3. Type in your school email and click Continue
4. You will see the message "Apple ID for Atlanta International School"
Press Continue.
5. Your browser will open, and you will be redirected to Onelogin.
Sign in with your school email.
3. Make sure that you and your students are connected to ais.wifi and have Bluetooth ON
Both you and your students need to be connected to ais.wifi and have Bluetooth turned on. You can check it in each iPad / Mac Settings.
